The best all in one radio/speaker/ipod player in the world!

If you're looking for a medium priced radio, multi-functional speaker, I have found something extraordinary! The Tivoli Model One Henry Kloss radio is amazing! Not only is it cool and retro-ish looking, but it also sounds spectacular. I've been looking for a good radio/speaker/MP3 player for a looong time, and I'm happy to say the search is over. The best thing is it's only 8.5 by 5 inches in size. Perfect and cozy for a small desk or work area.

Winter blues...

I have the winter blues! As I walked around the nabe today, I could not shake this feeling of melancholy. I thought perhaps of trying my favorite cheese, which I have yet to reveal, but decided that wouldn't work. The sky will just not turn blue, and the sun is not yet bold enough to come out. Is it only the end of February, after all, and the cold weather will last perhaps another two months.

One thing that always makes me laugh, however, is this awesome video of a possessed cat on youtube that I stumbled upon a long time ago. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

The coolest clock you have ever seen

I saw this Karlsson Big Flip Clock at the Conran Shop in Manhattan about a year ago. Ever since then, I have never stopped thinking about it. Unfortunately, it's way too expensive and priced at anywhere from $290 to $350. A store in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (called A&G Merch) was selling it for $250 about a month ago, but they all of a sudden changed the price to $329 because they were accidentally selling it for the wrong price.

Luckily, I found the same clock on ebay for about $150 (not including shipping, which will run you about $30 to $40):

Eames storage unit....Ooh la la!

I am LOVE with this Eames storage unit. I once saw one on craigslist a while ago, but it was made by Modernica. (I think Modernica was licensed to manufacture Eames furniture ten years ago, but no longer).

I am already plotting to see if I can somehow buy this at a much reduced price. Any ideas? So far, the best price I found for the configuration in the pictures is about $2,100. The Design Within Reach Annex in New Jersey sometimes gets them, but they are usually super damaged.

If anyone knows where I can get a great deal, let me know. Your reward will be a cheese and wine tasting at my house. I will serve you the greatest cheese ever made. I can't reveal the name of the cheese yet because I am saving it for a special post. You will not believe how good this cheese is. I am not kidding!

Macaroni and cheese!

Macaroni and cheese is the great American snack. It's quick, easy and delicious. I actually just had some Annie's Organic Shells & White Cheddar, and it was excellent. (Note: the photo above is not my macaroni and cheese and certainly not my kitchen!) I also accidentally put about 2 table spoons of organic black pepper. Anyway, for some reason, whenever I make a bowl of organic shells and white cheddar, it comes out brilliantly! I don't know what it is; the pasta is totally al dente, the cheese is nice and perfectly melted, and I always add the perfect amount of butter. Perhaps the trick is that I often substitute water for milk. I know! Some may scoff at this maneuver, but rest assured the macaroni does not come out any less divine! (Actually the reason I don't use milk is because I often don't have any since someone keeps finishing all of it!) If you want to be bold and make your own macaroni and cheese, I found this super easy recipe. I might even try it one day!

First, boil water, then add pasta, then cook pasta, then grate cheese, then drain pasta, then add pat of butter and stir. Next sprinkle pasta with grated cheese. Next add milk. Finally, serve!
Here is how to make your own white sauce!
1 Tbsp. butter1 Tbsp. white flour1/2 to 2 cups milk
Melt butter in small frying pan over medium heat. Add flour and whisk until a smooth paste is formed. Add a tablespoon or so of milk and whisk until smooth. Repeat process until desired consistency is reached. For cheese sauce or as base for soup, this should be somewhere between ketchup and heavy cream. Remove from heat.

Radiohead's Santa Barbara Bowl Concert on NPR

This is a little old, like from August of 2008, but I love listening to this Santa Barbara Bowl Radiohead concert while I am working or doing other things. If you were at this concert, you are one lucky bastard! Seriously. The only annoying thing is the NPR guy who talks in the beginning, towards the end, and at the very end. His voice is soo nasally. Plus he sounds like he thinks he's really cool. You be the judge.

Christian Siriano's loft in Williamsburg -- fierce!

Check out Christian's (from Project Runway) sweet loft in Williamsburg. http://www.nysun.com/real-estate/hot-fashion-designer-claims-fierce-williamsburg/79325/ I think I've been in this building once about 2 years ago. Back then the rents were about $3,000 or more for a giant studio...

For those of you (Angela, since you are the only one reading this), try making this delicious looking cheese bread. Once you make it, do me a favor and send me a slice or something in the mail. Thanks in advance!

A truly awesome video

This guy in the video's name is Ely; He is a really good dancer. Not nearly as good as me, but I give him points for trying!*

*Just kidding! He actually dances better than me.

Gouda Parrano + entertainment crackers + honey = Immense pleasure

For a wonderful late afternoon snack, try having some gouda parrano cheese (aged 60 days or more) with some wheat "entertainment" crackers and some honey of your own choosing. This is a truly divine way to spend a late afternoon or early evening break.

If you are starving and wondering how long this will fill you up until your next meal, I'd say 6 crackers with several thin slices of cheese will satisfy you for about 20 minutes. For example, I just had some gouda parrano with entertainment crackers with some honey about 20 minutes ago, and I am already starving.
